P.R.No:196- District Collector has announced that transgender individuals can utilize the Vidiyal Payanam scheme

In Tamil Nadu, the Vidiyal Travel Scheme has been expanded to allow transgender individuals living in hilly regions to travel free of cost on ordinary fare buses, using the identity card issued by the Transgender Welfare Board. Therefore, the Nilgiris District Collector, Mrs. Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru, I.A.S., has informed that transgender individuals in the Nilgiris district should make use of the Vidiyal Travel Scheme with the identity card issued by the Transgender Welfare Board.(PDF 42KB)
