In the Nilgiris District, under the National Horticulture Mission Scheme, the Department of Horticulture and Plantation Crops is providing bio-fertilizers and inputs worth ₹1,500 per hectare for Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

District Collector Mrs. Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru, I.A.S., stated that farmers should adopt integrated pest control methods, taking into consideration the after-effects of using chemical pesticides.(PDF 44KB)
