P.R.No:633- Distribution Scheme of Electric Chaff Cutters for Small and Marginal Farmers

As part of the Agriculture Budget Announcement Scheme for the year 2025–2026, a program is being implemented to distribute Electric Chaff Cutters to small and marginal farmers at a 50% subsidy.

This initiative aims to reduce fodder wastage, improve the digestibility of livestock, and enhance productivity. Under this scheme, one chaff cutter (electric-powered) will be provided per block, benefiting one farmer per block. For the year 2025–2026, two beneficiaries will be selected across two blocks in the Nilgiris district.

District Collector Mrs. Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru, I.A.S., has urged farmers and livestock rearers in the Nilgiris district to make use of this scheme by approaching their nearest veterinary centers.(PDF 48KB)
