P.R.No:12- In celebration of the Thai Pongal Festival-2026 special Pongal gift packages will be distributed at the Fair Price Shops in the Nilgiris district

To ensure that the people of Tamil Nadu celebrate the 2026 Pongal festival in a grand manner, the Government of Tamil Nadu has announced a special Pongal Gift Hamper for all rice-option ration cardholders.

The package includes:

• 1 kg of Raw Rice
• 1 kg of Sugar
• One full-length Sugarcane
• Dhoti and Saree
• Cash assistance of ₹3,000/-

In the Nilgiris district, this gift hamper will be distributed through Fair Price Shops (ration shops) to 2,18,576 eligible rice-option ration cardholders as identified by the state government.(PDF 38KB)
