P.R.No:217- Electronic voting machines used for polling are stored at the Government Polytechnic College in accordance with security protocols

Polling for the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly General Election 2026 was conducted successfully on 23.04.2026 at polling stations falling under the three Assembly Constituencies in Nilgiris District: 108 – Udhagamandalam, 109 – Gudalur (SC), and 110 – Coonoor.

After the completion of polling, the electronic voting machines (EVMs) used for voting and the Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines were sealed in the presence of the contesting candidates/their representatives and the General Observers appointed by the Election Commission of India, with video recording carried out. In accordance with the storage and security protocols prescribed by the Election Commission of India, these machines have been kept at the Government Polytechnic College, Udhagamandalam.

The strong room is protected with three-tier armed security and is under 24×7 CCTV surveillance.(PDF 54KB)
