With the objective of reviving the cultivation of fruit varieties native to the Nilgiris District, the District Collector, Mrs. Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru, I.A.S., inaugurated the planting of indigenous fruit saplings over an area of 1 acre at the Pomological Station, Coonoor, on 17.06.2026.
