In connection with the 2026 Independence Day celebrations, the National Flag hoisting ceremony will take place on August 15, 2026 (Saturday) at 10:00 AM at the Government Arts College playground in Udhagamandalam. The Nilgiris District Collector, Mrs. Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru, IAS, will hoist the Indian National Flag and present certificates of appreciation to individuals who have performed meritoriously in the district.
