The Dak Adalat for the quarter ending June 2024 will be held at the office of the undersigned on 02.07.2024 at 11:00 Hrs to strengthen the machinery for redressal of public grievances. The Dak Adalat will be chaired by the Superintendent of Post Offices, Nilgiris Division, Udagamandalam – 643001.

The public complaints / representations if any may be addressed to the Superintendent of Post Offices, Nilgiris Division, Udagamandalam- 643001, so as to reach this office on or before 01.07.2024. The covers should be superscribed on the top as “Dak Adalat Case”.

The complaints should contain full details such as date and time of posting, Full address of the sender and addressee, registered/ consignment  number with date and office of booking for Money Orders, VP, Registered, Insured and Speed Post articles.  If the complaint is about Savings Bank or Postal Life Insurance/RPLI the complaint should contain the Account Numbers, PLI/RPLI Policy Numbers> Name and Address of the depositor / Insurant, Name of the Post Office, the details of recovery and any reference of the Postal Department whatever available.­

A one-day special camp for transgenders is going to be held on 21.06.2024 under the leadership of the District Collector of Nilgiris on behalf of the Nilgiri District Social Welfare Department and other welfare service providing departments in order to provide various welfare assistance to transgenders who are marginalized in the society at one place.

The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Tribunal Presided over by Hon’ble Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav, Judge, Delhi High Court, will hold a sitting at the Meeting Hall of Municipal Office on Mount Road, Coonoor, Tamilnadu on 18^th June 2024 and 19^th June 2024 at 10.00a.m.onwards. All those, who are interested in giving evidence, may file their affidavits (in duplicate) with the undersigned and shall remain present in person on the above date for their cross-examination, if any, before the Hon’ble Tribunal.

TNPCB intends to present Manjappai awards to the educational Institutions (schools & colleges) and commercial Establishments who proactively participate and make exemplary contributions towards the Meendum Manjappai campaign through internal initiatives and external awareness programs: The award will be presented to 3 best schools, 3 best colleges and 3 best commercial Establishments which effectively implement the ban on SUPs in their campus. The first prize will carry a sum of Rs. 10 lakhs, the second prize will be Rs. 5 lakhs and Rs. 3 lakhs will be issued as third prize. The criteria for evolving the best Plastic-free school/college/commercial Establishments are given in Annexure.

The Hon’ble Minister for Environment and Climate Change has made an announcement on the floor of the Assembly on 03.09.2021 that “Green Champion Award” will be presented to the individuals and organizations that participate proactively and make exemplary contributions to environment protection from the financial year 2021-2022 onwards at a cost of Rs.1.0 Crore. The awardees will be presented with prize money of Rs.1 Lakh each for 100 individuals/ organizations every year.

To get the assistive devices needed by Differently Abled persons in The Nilgiris district will be held on Thursday 22.02.2024 at Gudalur Revenue Divisional Office and on Friday 23.02.2024 at District Differently Abled Persons Welfare Office, Garden Road Udhagai and on Tuesday 27.02.2024 at Coonoor Revenue Divisional Office.
